Hi Friends, I wanted to let you know that on February 21st, I'll be doing a cabaret performance to benefit Project A.L.S. What is Project A.L.S. and why is Helen doing a benefit for them? A.L.S. (commonly known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease") is a debilitating and always fatal disease that has long been considered untreatable. Project A.L.S. was founded in 1998 by Jenifer Estess, a producer in the entertainment business who was diagnosed with A.L.S. at age 35, and her sisters Valerie and Meredith. Its mission is to find and fund treatments and a cure for A.L.S., and it has already funded several groundbreaking investigations into new approaches that may well extend the lives of those with A.L.S. Valerie Estess is my longtime friend and neighbor, and through her I came to know and respect the wonderful work done by Project A.L.S. This benefit show is my small way of supporting that work. Please visit the Project A.L.S. website. The show will be a little different from the one I did in November. My long-time pianist and friend BOBBY PEACO will be with me and we'll be doing some of our all-time favorites! Hope you'll be able to join us - we'll have fun and we'll be helping a worthy organization.
